I have had all the aforementioned rigs, and if I was limited in my
funding, i would buy a 718 in a heartbeat
My son is in new hampshire, I am in florida...he has a general. i put
up a carolina 80 meter windom about 70 feet in his pine trees, and
the 718 with an mfj tuner is consistantly 20 over on 20 on sunday
mornings here in florida. excellent modulation.
Operating the 718 in new hampshire, i was amazed at the receiver, and
enjoyed AM contacts on 75, and great dx on ssb and cw on 40 and 20...
I am not kidding , its a great rig...
great bang for the buck is the bottom line
