[ICOM] Power Supply

The PS-15 should have no problem running the 735: the PS-15 is a 13.8 v, 20
amp supply, originally supplied to power the IC-720. The good thing about
100-watt radios is that, by and large, they aren't too fussy about being
paired with the "designated" supply. I've been, much to the horror of ICOM's
marketing department, no doubt, been using an Astron to run my IC-756PRO.
The PS-15 appears to be designed to be switched by the radio's "power"
switch and appears to have no switch of its own. I'm not entirely familiar
with the 735, so I don't know whether its power switch is outed to pins on
the power connector (the 720 and some later radios were).
I'm using an internal PS taken from an IC-740 to run a couple of my 100-watt
radios. Because the 740 did switch the PS through the power connector, to
make it work with radios that don't, I merely determined which of the power
connector's wires were the switch leads and shorted them out inside the
case. Alternatively, you could wire these to a switch to effect power supply
on-off control. I simply unplug mine from the wall when I am not using it.
Unless you're really concerned about the PS matching the radio in appearance
(I'd rather just hide the PS), the radio won't know that it's not a PS-55.
