[ICOM] IC706MK2g gets hot on xmit and audio distorts

It's "normal" for it to be hot as a firecracker, but not for the audio to be 
distorted.  For years now, mine gets way too hot to handle during long 
periods of RTTY operating and contesting, but it just keeps on ticking.  I 
might be looking for another cause of the distorted audio.  Good luck -
