I believe that ICOM (and other manufacturers) do not use Molex plugs, but
one from a different vendor that is not compatible with Molex plugs.
There are a lot of "replacement" plugs out there that are close, but not
exactly the same. The result is often overheating as the pins make less
than optimum contact.
You can buy the exact replacement plug and pins from ICOM for a very very
reasonable price or the entire cable if you don't want to be bothered with
building one, but this is not a good area to try to save a few bucks. Call
ICOM parts and ask for the parts--it is a request they are very familiar with.
