[ICOM] The DIN Thing

Howdy .. way back when, the 70s, I was in the stereo biz and learned about 
DINs before they became so ubiquitous in the US market ... learned from 
techies to cut off the  inner pin connections to which you were not going to 
solder... makes the one you ARE soldering much more accessible.   AND ... 
important to the discussions that have been going on here is that you MAY 
not need to go nutso finding the right DIN .. check your "stock on hand" .. 
or your local electronics emporium .. and if the DIN will fit your 
receptacle, you may be lucky and have the correct corresponding pins be the 
ones you are going to use on your connections .. my amp connections for my 
736 & 756P2 are short several pins of a "full deck" .. HIHI.  What is the 
point of having excess pins when they are going to go unused?
