The switching transistor on many ICOM radios is incapable of handling the
current demand of many amps.
IMHO - you have just blown that circuit. The radio will likely need to be
repaired - and you will need to use a relay in between in order to keep the
radio from doing that again.
Or - fix the radio, sell the amp, and get a PW-1.
Sorry - please don't shoot the messenger. Not only because it is the right
thing to do - but also because this messenger shoots back.
