Dear Friends,
First of all, I must say that I am learning a lot from this list!
Thanks, everybody!
I have an Icom IC-M700 marine SSB rig that I have been
using on the ham bands without problems. This unit came
with an Icom AT-120 automatic antenna tuner, and works
just fine with the M700. I can tune my 80-meter doublet
(fed with 450-ohm ladder line) on all bands from 160
through 15 meters. (The M-700 does not work above
23.999 Mhz.)
Yesterday was our annual ham radio luncheon and flea market.
I managed to give up my beloved MFJ-269 antenna analyzer
and some other things and come home with an almost new
Icom IC-706-MK-II-G. So, Icom radio and Icom tuner, no
problem. WRONG! Pressing the Tune button on the rig
does nothing. And I opened the lid on the tuner, and it has
a gazillion dip switches and a toggle switch. Try the toggle
switch, and still nothing happens. I am not brave enough to
try the dips, without somebody holding my hand. HELP!!!
Does the tuner resent being separated from the M-700?
Thanks in advance!!
