Steve,
The AT-120 was designed to work with the M700. It will tune all the
frequencies the M700 will tune and clean up to 10 meters if you have a
radio to drive it.
The main differences is timing used between the radio and tuner.
A stock AT-120 will not shut off when used with a 706MKII using the tuning
button, it just stays on where an AH-3 will shut off when you press the
tuning button to do .
I used an AT-120 for some time before I bought my HS1800 Pro. I had to
modify it to work properly with the 707MKIKI I own but it worked fine after
that.
The AT-120 will work exactly as described in the M700 manual, its a fine
combination. Enjoy it. I once had a person at the Seattle boat show tell me
he was in the Indian Ocean and was the only vessel able to contact the US
for a brief period of time. Others were relaying through him. He was using
the same combination you just received
and knocked the socks off the WLO operators when they learned where he was.
I am sure it had to do with his location and skip but he sure was impressed.
