   A second vote for the Belkin (model F5U103).  They are big and clumsy
   compared to the serial adapter "cables" but they work flawlessly and will
   even do 5 bit baudot RTTY!  Unfortunately, I don't see them for sale on the
   belkin WEB site any longer.

I have at least one of these here that I'm not using, also one of
their clunky hubs that takes these as an insert, and a matching USB to
Ethernet converter.  I'm not using them, and never will.  I'll send
them to you for $5. each and you pay shipping.

I'm think there's a second one of the serial ports here, too, but it's
not with the others, so it may just be lost in the rubble or I may
have given it away.
