Hi All: There is another reason to substitute LED's for incandescent lamps in a radio that is being powered by DC voltage. When incandescent lamps are powered by DC voltage. The ionized tungsten inside the lamps tend to be deposited back on the filament more at one end than the other after repeated off-on cycles, thus shortening the filament life as it thins. The filament has more tendency to break due to this thinning at one end. Lamps operated on AC do not due this because of the polarity changes. Larry K4LXV
