[ICOM] IC-215 alignment inst. ???

Transmit should be pretty close. Receive MIGHT
be down in sensitivity due to possible low level
of injection signal. I seem to remember that
once upon a time, Technician Class licensees
were limited to 145-147 on 2m. Some repeater
groups set up on 147-148 to keep Techs out.
If I recall, this was most common around Chicago
but probably went on elsewhere.
By the time the synthesized IC-22S came out
(I still have 2 of these, non-functional) the FM
repeater operation area had been set at 146-148.
If your 215 requires low side injection, I would
highly recommend following that scheme. Cliff
or others may have further guidance.

Mac...just got crystals in the mail today from JAN.
I got one repeater pair...but need to install PL, and 146.52 simplex. It
seems to work fine, but I notice the output meter is down a bit on both 146
range crystals than it is from the other 145 range crystals. How much down I
don't yet know. . My IC-215 'E' manual shows a different crystal frequency
for local oscillator than the US model. One of them you have to add it to
the receive freq to get 10.7 , and the US crystal you have to subtract it. I
can find out the details again by reading the theory....but it had to do
with addition vs subtraction to get the 10.7....strange!!
...Dave
