[ICOM] Receive antenna input?

Adam...With my PRO2 I was advised to use a "front end saver" with preamp on 
80 and 160 because supposedly that protective bulb is hard to find and 
change (I still don't know where it is!).  From your post, I guess I only 
need the preamp with my PRO3... am I understanding correctly that the PRO3 
switchout circuit is "fast" enough that a "front end saver" wouldn't be 
necessary?... so I could just use the preamp without it on 80 and 160?
