[ICOM] IC-735 Intermittent Problem ??

Hello Gang:

I am trying to troubleshoot my IC-735 that has a problem I am trying to
troubleshoot.  However I don't have a schematic or service manual so
it's difficult to try to track down the source of the problem.  I am wondering
if someone on this Reflector has experienced a similar problem and perhaps
can save me some hair pulling and gnashing of teeth trying to figure it out.

The radio's functions all work perfectly below 15 MHz and above 22 MHz.
However both the RX and TX are dead only from 15MHz to 22 MHz.  This
is intermittent and sometimes both TX and RX functions are normal.  I
cannot see anything that causes this to happen, ie: switches, VFO, change
from RX to TX, etc. It just comes and goes without apparent reason.

Obviously there are some circuits that are common only to this range of
frequencies only and I am figuring it logically must lie somewhere within that
common circuitry.  However without documentation it will be hard to track this
down.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or information that might help me fix this
annoying problem?
