[ICOM] Icom 7800-the perfect rig?

I can't comment about digital modes and the like, but we have used two (one on 40 meters and one on 20 meters) IC7800s at my station during the last 4 major DX contests. They are
AMAZING radios. They are clearly better than the 781s that were in those band slots. We still used nine 781s for the other positions (the 781 is a SUPER radio), but the receiver in
the 7800 is the best I have ever used. I have tried every Yaesu FT1000 radio (1000D, 1000MP, Mark V) and they are not even close (the IC765 beats the Yaesu's). I have not tried the
newest Yaesu and I have not tried the Orions (I have no interest in those radios).
For serious weak signal contesting, the 7800 is the ultimate receiver.
