I ordered one before they were released, and then later got one with a
temporary "destruction manual" .. was a dealer at the time. A month later,
went to SAROC, the big Amateur Radio convention in Las Vegas, and .. "ta
daa" .. won one! So I had 2 of them, one in each car! Loved `em, but
wasn't too long before the dial lamps started failing! This was .. what ..
1973? Think so. 73, y'all .. Mark, AA6DX.

I purchased one when they first come to market and it was the best rig Icom
ever manufactured. All the other Icom rig I owned after the IC-230 left a
lot to be desired .
