I ordered one before they were released, and then later got one with a  
temporary "destruction manual" .. was a dealer at the time.  A month later,  
went to SAROC, the big Amateur Radio convention in Las Vegas, and .. "ta  
daa" .. won one!  So I had 2 of them, one in each car!  Loved `em, but  
wasn't too long before the dial lamps started failing!  This was .. what ..

I purchased one when they first come to market and it was the best rig Icom 
ever manufactured. All the other Icom rig I owned after the IC-230 left a 
lot to be desired .
