[ICOM] SSB power out on 706

John, just a reminder. The power output is adjustable in the menu for
each primary frequency group. HF 160-10, 6 meters, and 2 meters. You
should have aprox. 100W on HF & 6 and 20 or so on 2. If the menu
settings are all on H, then there is the possibility the power was
physically turned down on the board. Once again , a pot for each band
segment. I have mine turned down on 2 so that I will not overdrive my
amp. I do not like to use the menu adjustments for power output as it
may go back to H power if the processor is reset. And if the
adjustment level is not readjusted overdrive of your amp will result.
The physical way on the board is much safer. Check these and maybe you
will find your problem. GL, Rick. W8ZT.

It is putting out about 90 watts on RTTY and FM, but when I go to SSB, using a PEP wattmeter (requiring 12 volts) it is only reading about 40 watts. Is that normal for SSB, or is it running low? I know that power out will look low on a regular watt meter on SSB, which is why I was using the PEP wattmeter.
