HOWEVER - you GET what you PAY FOR.

Unless you use a resistor, the radio shack bulb will fail - and quickly.
Even WITH a resistor, it will not last as long as OEM bulbs.  You will be
replacing it again.  And again.  And - - - well.... You get the picture.

I finally got wise, and began replacing bulbs with white LEDs.  Whenever a
radio loses a bulb, I pull it on the bench and convert ALL lamps to LEDs.

Yeah - it takes more time.  But a job done well once isn't that bad a deal.
