[ICOM] IC-706MKIIG - It cannot be this difficult

   I agree with all of the post below.  All this "You have to use address
   hhh"  is  not  correct.   I've  used  mine  with several different hex
   addresses  -  it  just  has  to  match what the program of interest is
   expecting.

   WriteLog DOES let you use higher com ports.  On the default port setup
   screen,  it  looks like it only uses 4, but...  You can modify the ini
   file  to  show say Ports 6,7,8,9 - The setup screen is only configured
   to  display  4 ports, but they can be any 4 ports you want to show, ie
   they can be higher com ports other than 1-4.  (I can't remember if the
   max is 8 or 12.)

   I  also agree with an earlier post that the CT-17 is apparently easily
   damaged.   I  have  gone  through  2  of them now.  Not sure if it was
   lightning  or  what,  but  2  have stopped working after working for a
   couple of years each time.

   This is NOT the fault of DX4WIN - It is a great program!

   Good  luck  to  the  OP  - Seems like at this point he has tried about
   everything  except  a  different com port and/or a different interface
