Ken:
Thanks for the input. Changing the baud rate is about the only thing I have
not done. I have been in the computer field for 32 years and when something
this simple does not work, it bothers me. I will not get home until late
tonight and I will try it out. If this works, then all I have to do is find
a dual foot switch to key the headset and the amplifier. I have a foot
switch keying the headset in the RJ45 jack on the back of the 706, but when
I put an in-line splitter in and hooked it to the amp, the amp keyed up. I
am wondering if the ground needs to be swapped in my jack for the headset
connection. I use this rig for 6 meters and I do not like doing everything
manual, it is too hard to contest and not have the rig interfaced.

Hi Alan,
Make sure the Hex address for the radio is the same in the radio and
writelog.
Make sure that both are specified in the same radix i.e. hex or decimal.
set
the baud rate the same. My experience is that auto baud rate doesn't work
that
well. Of course this is all coming from someone who has never used writelog.
