Don't set the baud rate to auto on either end. Use 9600 in the radio and
in WriteLog. In Writelog, make sure your writelog.ini file is correct.

Subject: [ICOM] IC-706MKIIG & CT-17
I am trying to hook my IC-706MKIIG to DX4WIN and WriteLog via my CT-17
computer interface. I thought it would be straight forward. I hooked
the
CT-17 to COM4, power to my power supply, and the single cable with the
two
1/8 inch phono plugs to the CT-17 and the IC-706MKIIG. The original hex
address on the 706 was 58H and that did not work and then I changed it
to
48H and that did not work, either. I left the baud rate on the radio
set at
AUTO. This seems like a fairly straightforward installation and it does
not
work. Any help would be appreciated.
