[ICOM] RE: Mic gain on the 706 MKIIG

Shouldn't Icom have engineered the rig so that the processor is off or
out of the audio circuit in FM mode and also some way to retain mic
settings for each mode?

Does the new 7000's mic gain work the same way the 706 does?

The Yaesu all band mobile radios don't seem to have this problem.

This is true of the 820 and 910 also... So probably should be a general
rule. "Don't' use a processor on FM"

>> You should make sure that you have the SPEECH PROCESSOR is turned
OFF when using that rig in the FM mode or the transmit audio will sound
like it is overdeviating. This is what I observed when looking at the
transmit audio on a service monitor.
