[ICOM] IC-775 vs. IC-756 ProII/III

Hi Bob,

The current table on the Sherwood website gives the 2 kHz dynamic range (I
assume it is BDR) for the IC-756Pro3 as 75 dB. This is only 1 dB less than
the figure given for the 775 in the 2004 table.

This would seem to be a minimal price to pay for the "brick-wall" DSP IF
filtering, 70 dB notch filter and spectrum scope in the 756Pro3.

In most cases, the limiting factor in close-in operation is not so much the
receiver's dynamic range as the spectral purity of the distant
transmitter's signal. SSB IMD3 products at -25 to -30 dBc, and CW keying
sidebands at -50 dBc, are quite typical.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ
