[ICOM] Question abt 746 pro and G5RV combo

You will need an external tuner.
SWR with G5RV can hit 5 to 1 and the radio tuner can't handle it.
Turn off internal tuner and hook up an external.
G5RV was made to work best on 20 meters.
Also, to work 80 meters you should have a 102 foot G5RV.
The shorter versions just won't cut it on 80 and hardly make 40.
If you are configuring the G5RV in inverted v don't close the v to  much.
Do not let the ladder line go closer than 12 inches to anything and make  
sure it hangs down.
