I wonder how common this problem is. I've had to replace several
transistors and steering diodes in my filter board over the years and
have hear of others who have as well. Not needed to in my MkII or G.
Band data voltage is fine, the data lines from the main board to the
filter board are fine, the darned thing seems to eat its own
components. It'll work for a year or so, then something different
will fail. I usually run very low power on this particular radio,
and indeed haven't had any of the relays fail. I'm sure the whole
assembly from Icom is worth more than the radio, costwise...
I'm half tempted to build an external bandpass filter assembly, but
use a bit more robust method of switching.
