40M,20M,17M,15M,12M = 100% SSB
10M 90%SSB 10% FM
6M 50% SSB - 50% FM
2M 5% SSB 75% FM - 20% Winlink (1200 Baud Packet)
70CM 5% ATV - 95% FM

Most Used Band 17M... My 108" Whip and AH-4 works fabulously on 17M
Seems that my SUV tunes up perfectly on that band... For some unknown it
seems competitive with my SteppIR MonstIR on 17M... If the other bands
worked as well as 17M, I doubt if I would ever leave the truck

Subject: [ICOM] Activity question for Icom 706 radios

I am looking to collect some data (or actually educated guesses) for an
article I am writing. By your best estimate, what percentage of Icom
706/MKII/MIIG owners use the HF and/or 6 meter portions of their radio on
SSB/CW, but limit the 2 meter and 70cm side of the radio to VHF/UHF?

Although my (JA purchased) 706g is not used much at the present, back when I
had it on one of my operating positions, it worked as well (on 6 M) as my:

Drake TR-6
Icom 575H
Icom 756PRO (also a JA radio)

In fact, it worked SO well, I sold the 575H, since it couldn't do what the g
could!
