I only operated the PRO III for about 3 weeks (loaner).
The one thing you have to remember is that the PROII and certainly the
PROIII have DSP units many generations better than the 775 DSP.(engineering
doesn't stop at Icom)
All units are very good units by the way,however I plan to possible sell the
775DSP in the near future.
My PROII sounds great,not metallic to me.
Even if the PROII would sound sounds metallic I would accept that,the
advantages of the DSP functions on the PROII are tough to beat.

Vladimir, you'll love the 761. I have a 761, an original 756PRO, I carried
back from Tokyo and a 745. I do lots of A/B/C comparisons with the same
antenna.
What a lot of people don't realize is that the differences between radios in
the last couple of years are INCREMENTAL. There won't be a HUGE difference.
If you want that, go compare a Hallicrafter S-120 to a PROIII!
