I have a question about the noise blanker on the Icom 756PRO. Let me explain my situation first: I live in a somewhat older residential neighborhood (1940s) with no CCR!!!! but with lots of noisy junk you get from having houses close together, and a little power line noise thrown in and such. Overall it makes the HF bands pretty noisy. Now the NB in my Yaesu FT100D kills that noise completely! Never seen such a great NB. But I miss dual receive for DXing. I have had an Icom 756 original in the past (756amateur?) and its NB did very well on this noise if I left the preamps off on 15 meters and below. But the NB also did introduce quite a bit of IMD products when the band got crowded (worse than the FT100D NB does).

What is the NB on the 756PRO like for power line noise and other urban crud? For those of you who have used both-is it as good as the NB in the 756 original? The QST review sounded kind of mixed on this. I would hate to get a nice radio that does dual receive, but then be unable to take advantage of it since you have to put up with S6 noise all of the time.
