[ICOM] IC-765 compared to a PRO-III

Interesting report, Dave, and entirely consistent with my own findings 
re the 765 (without roofing filter, compared with up to ProII). 

Have just put the roofing filter in my 775 (it already had all optional 
filters), had it professionally aligned, and then adjusted for best 
noise floor (NOT the Icom-recommended settings, which don't produce  
best noise floor).  Results are stupendous.  I don't have an Orion, but 
I wouldn't hesitate to bet $100 that the thus-modified 775 matches or 
exceeds the third-partry published receiver ratings for that no. 1 radio.
