Hi Duane,
I can be brief on this one!
The original ICOM 756 does have the display flaw described.
Having bought the radio new, I had to replace my original display
after a few years and now the replacement is showing the same
intermittent lines. :-((...
I have obtained yet another one to instal but have not done so as yet,
so cannot say whether it will be any better in the long run as I
understand it is a "refurbished" one from ICOM.
There was supposed to have been a substitute sourced in Taiwan but
I've been unable to verify if those were other than a very limited
run.
