Assuming the person who uses such a receiver for this
task has its input hooked to a 50 Ohm dummy load
and NOT to the 7000's output!!!

(;-p)

Hi Larry,

I would suggest checking the carrier/sideband amplitude relationship at 25W
carrier output with a spectrum analyser with 300 or 100 Hz RBW. An
IC-756Pro-series radio, IC-7800 or IC-781 will do as an alternative
measuring instrument.

If the peak sideband amplitude is 6 dB below the carrier on voice peaks, the
radio is generating a properly-modulated AM signal.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ
