Hi David:
So why are hams such a pain in the ass when you ask a legitimate question?
Probably it's the know it all attitude and policeman mentality rolled
together. Or perhaps it's the:  you have to be stupid in order for me to
look smart attitude.
This is one of the things that I find  very tiresome in our hobby and you
probably feel the same way.
It sort of turns me off from working people on the radio and makes me stick
to the radio repair - tinkering around with the equipment mode that I enjoy
much more these days. Anyway, I hope this is a little insight for your
legitimate concern.
Just don't let the bozos get you down.
