Hi Pepe,
Bons dias, meu amigo! And many thanks for supporting me so strongly on the
reflector.
If you did not hear the signal, it probably means that you do not have
cable TV to fight with, and that your TV sets are really RF-tight.
I greeted you in Portuguese because I attended a Mariza concert yesterday
evening, and the magic of Fado is still swirling around in my head!
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Thanks Adam,
I turned on a nearby TV set and still couldn't hear an interfering
signal; maybe it was too far away. Since others insisted they
could hear a birdie, for a while I thought that my radio was so deaf that it
couldn't hear itself...
Guys, when Adam speaks about Icom, listen...and don't argue.

To reiterate: That signal is not a birdie (internally-generated spurious
response): it is the 4th harmonic of the NTSC colour-burst frequency. Cable
systems, TV sets, VCR's and other NTSC video devices radiate it. The thing
is inescapable (unless one lives in a place where there is no NTSC video). I
can see it on my HP spectrum analyser too.
