I'm at the end of the rope with this IC-736 and the slightly off frequency.
I have to do the quick alignment every time I turn it on to assure that it
is on frequency. It's only off by 50 or 100 cycles but it's enough that the
gang notices it in the round table I frequent.
I've sent it to Icom twice 4 years back and they said that "it's within
specs"!
I've added the TCXO. I've aligned it per the service manual.
I've done the field fix for the USB and LSB by adding a resistor to a chip
on the underside of the rig.
It's a great rig but annoying to have to do the front panel quick alignment
every time I use it.
What's next?
George
