I disagree. It isn't that uncommon for a fuse to just blow. The starting
current of the radio may exceed the rating of the fuse. Not enough to make
it blow. But enough that over time it weakens, and one day - POP!
This will happen when you are on a trip somewhere, miles away from anyone
you know, and no prospects of finding a replacement fuse for days.
Life-threatening? NO! Annoying? YES!
I keep a few spare fuses for any equipment I travel with taped to the power
cord. That and a few small tools is all it takes. Again, not
life-threatening. But it might allow you to enjoy the rest of the trip
instead of wishing you had the tools and fuses.
