[ICOM] Contest performance of Pro III?

I operated the CQWW contests with the Pro III. At one time I noticed a bit
of desensing during the CW contest. Since the WX outside was a slight mist,
powerline noise was non existent. I was running stations on 20 meters,
some of the stations I was working were not moving the S-meter with PreAmp
2 on. I could not hear these weak stations without the preamp. There were
two strong stations above me, they were about 2 and 3 KHz above me, both
about 30 over S-9. When they both transmitted I noticed the RX would
desense. If I wasn't looking for artifacts, I probably wouldn't have
noticed.
During the Sweepstakes contests, my friend operated my station. He operated
SO2R, with a PRO II and a PRO III.
During CW sweepstakes he did not notice any desensing. He said both radios
played the same. He said he did not notice any difference between the PRO
II and the PRO III.
During phone sweepstakes he said the PRO III was noticeably better. It was
quieter, less noise, and easier to pull stations out of the crowded band
conditions. He moved to the PRO III when stations were difficult to copy on
the PRO II. (Writelog has a feature where you can swap radios)

Subject: [ICOM] Contest performance of Pro III?
Now that the recent CQWW DX and ARRL SS contests are history I was
wondering what contesters using the Pro III think about its performance
under difficult conditions. Any particular problems? Difficulty
sorting out weak ones amongst the really loud signals? I would hope the
roofing filter helps. Any comments pro/con?
