[ICOM] Icom PW1 SWR Metering Failure

I wonder what the repercussions would be if I subed in a 4.7K 1/4 watt
resistor for testing purposes and until I receive a replacement from Icom.

When this failed in your amp Mike did all other functions also work?
Mine seems to function normally in every way, but does not display SWR.
Seems to tune fine and have plenty of power output.

So has Icom upgraded the part to a more robust version?
Did you carry out the work yourself?
Looks like the splitter board is simple to get to.

Thanks!

I found two pictures of the problem -- one from my amp (s/n 1124) and one
from s/n 1146. You can view them at:

Hi Mike,

Yes, by all means please post.
If I can do it, have worked with SMD before, saves the trip back to Icom.
