[ICOM] Fooling an Icom 718

Acquiring an Icom 718 to be used as backup and portable rig for CW and digital modes.  Sinc there is only 1 filter slot is it possible to install say a 500hz CW filter and fool the 718 to think it is an SSB filter so I can get some selectivity on the digital soundcard modes (most of which are USB)?  I recall hearing that this can be done in the menu settings, but may have heard wrong.
