Most certainly. Just set your IC-718 to "transceive on" and choose a baudrate
which the AEA device accepts.
If you run into problems it might be that the AEA requires the older CI-V data
format (4 instead of 5 five data bytes for frequency). You can set that in
the IC-718 in the menu, the menu option is "CI-V IC-731 mode". But my guess
is that the AEA understands the 5-byte format. In 1993 the IC-735/731, which
was the only rig with the shorter data format, was already old.
