I am deeply saddened by our loss of this talented, helpful and kind
gentleman.
When I got back into Ham Radio in 1999, after holding an expired Novice
license in 1962, I moved though the license classes on my own, without the
benefit of an Elmer. Much helpful advice was received from experienced hams
over the air, but the best help and advice I ever received was from the
Yellow Rose. After seeing some of his comments on the ICOM Reflector, I
emailed him and asked if he would be my "recruited Elmer", and he kindly
agreed. Thoroughly knowledgeable in the Art of Electronics and Radio, his
answers and explanations were always kindly expressed with a simple clarity
that bespoke high intelligence, not just technical competence.
Ham Radio lost one of its shining lights with the SK of George Baker - W5YR.
May God be with his Family.
Gary/WY5P
