[ICOM] Which model has problems

As I know it: The first issue 756 has some issues with the infamous blue
lines appearing. The condition gets worse until the screen is unreadable. Do
not believe that any fix (i.e. new screens) remain available although rumor
has it they may have/had/gonna have some made. Would be leary of any
original 756 with any blue lines in the display.

The early 746's had a problem where the display would go out. This was the
result of a heat problem. Owners would turn the intensity of the backlite
down in hopes of extending life/saving the screen or whatever. What this did
was compound the heat dissipation problem resulting in dead screens. This
one was repairable. Later 746's and pro's have no known display issues but
do have the "no TX" problems.
