Call Icom. They will send you a surface mount
resistor of 560 Ohm value that your use to
replace an existing resistor on the board in the
microphone. Ask them to send you a 470 and
430 Ohm also. I put the 560s in my two 2710s
and it helped tremendously, but not quite enough
for my big mouth.

Subject: [ICOM] IC-2710H Transmit Audio Too Hot
Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2005 22:34:25 -0500

The microphone on my IC-2710H mobile is overdriving the radio. The mic is
so sensitive that I have to hold it 1 foot away to get reasonable transmit
audio levels. I have verified this on a service monitor. Since I do not
have a service monitor for the rig, can anyone tell me what trimmer or
control inside of the radio to adjust to set the transmit audio levels back?

Thanks.
