[ICOM] IC-706 Mobile Noise Question

Not knowing anything about this radio or problem. The first thing I would
try is a choke core on the control cable.
At one end or the other, maybe both. Sounds like noise generated by the
radio is getting back into the antenna.

I've an original IC-706 which I sometimes use with the remote mounting

kit in the van.  I've noticed that when I turn the tuning control or

any other knob I hear a static as if it was a noisy pot.  This noise

does not happen when the remote cord is not used.

This noise is loudest on those bands for which I have a resonant antenna.

I'd be grateful for any help.
