[ICOM] IC-745 & IC-EX242 FM board

Gary,
I'm certain all cables were plugged in properly, with no bent pins. I do
know that I needed to refer to the IC-745 owners manual for installation
instructions, as the instructions provided with the IC-EX242 were not quite
correct and seemed to be oriented towards the IC-740. It would be hard to
mess up this install- I guess I can check one more time. It would be nice
to find somebody local with an IC-745 that we could try this board in.
Thanks for the input!

There are some 7 cables that need to be moved and plugged in when
installing the FM unit. You sure you had them all according to the owners
manual ?
If so and no bent pins, cables not fully plugged in etc. I don't know off
hand what the trouble would be. Sure sounds like a simple cable trouble
though to me.
I am sure i crossed this trouble but it has been to many years ago now.

I recently plugged a never-used IC-EX242 FM board into my IC-745. Seems to

>plugged in, the 745 refused to output any power whatsoever in SSB,
>RTTY, or CW mode. All the relays click, the TX lamp lights up, but
>absolutely zero output. TX on FM works fine.
