[ICOM] Best antenna for 706 mobile?

I am also contemplating putting my 706mkIIg in my truck.
I was considering using the hustler system with 3 resonators (80,40,17) and
use an LDG AT-100 pro autotuner to cover everything else.

Another posting I saw showed a guy using a 102" whip on his hustler mast.
I may think about doing that and also using the 80m and 40m resonators to keep it
simpler. I figure with that and the tuner I should be able to handle everything but 160m.

OTOH, a single band antenna for say 40m or 80m with the tuner may be sufficient too.
For 6m I plan to have a loop for ssb and I already have a good dual band vhf/uhf for 2m/70cm.

Thoughts and comments are welcome....

You are going to get as many opinions as there are people on this list.

It all depends on the available $$$$, and the desire to have a big signal.

I have worked the world with the hustler whip/coils. Just buy the coils
that you need. Not much $$$, fair performance. Or you can go with the
latest-greatest screwdriver antenna. The sky (and/or your wallet) is the
limit.

I would not recommend the AH-4/AH-2 combination unless the AH-4 were mounted
OUTSIDE the vehicle - it is part of the system, and radiates signal too. It
is basically a base-loaded antenna in that configuration. Even then, the
hustlers, being center-loaded would be better.
