This is Mike, KD9KC.  I am running 3 of them on this computer, from two
different makes.  I cannot see any markings on them, but I can tell you that
they were the cheapest ones I could find on the internet.  They seem to work
just fine.  I am also using one on a laptop that has no serial port.  It too
functions just fine.  I did need to load the drivers that came with them,
WIN-XP did not automatically do it.  I have successfully used them to work
with my GPS units, the CI-V, and the OPC-478.  Since I converted my
satellite tracker to USB, I have needed to add a USB card to the computer.
Again, cheapest one.  5-USB ports for about $15.  I don't remember where
that came from, but google-search for them.

This is one of the USB-RS-232 cables.  It works fine for me.
