Alan, I am using IC765. On PSK it is driven by SB16 output through the ACC
input of the radio. All I have in between the SB and IC765 is 1:1 isolating
transformer. Windows mixer is used to ajust the output level of the SB16
card. I do not know anything about Realtek AC97 but I think there should be
more then enough audio at the speaker output of the card. Why don't you try
to measure the output of the card across the 100 ohm resistor and see if it
can be set at around 100 mv using Windows mixer. It can be done with any
oscilloscope or high impeadance voltmeter. If for some reasons it is too low
(wich should not be the case if there is enough audio to drive loudspeakers)
you could use 1;3 or 1;4 audio transformer. But I would rather change the
card in that case. If there is enough voltage at the audio output I would
look for a problem in the radio. But first make sure you are using the
correct pin on the ACC socket of the radio.
