I have been working at finding a solution to my problem of not being
able to drive my IC761 from the Audio card on PSK.
The Maximum poer out I can get is approx 7 watts with RF power
control at Max and audio output from the Realtek AC97 audio card
also set at Max. I am driving a Rascal GLX with the gain set at Max on
that as well.
Although I am not happy doing it at present I have to switch in the
Speech Compressor and adjust the Power control on the IC761 to about 30
to 40 watts. I know it is not recommended but it is the only way I can
get a useable output power and so far all reports suggest that
the signal is clean(which is a big relief).
Looking at the ciruit diagram of the IC761 I am unabe to see where the
audio line from the accessory Jack ACC1 enters the rigs audio cct
but it does come in after the Mic gain control as that has no effect
on the adjustments. I was looking to see if there possibly may have been
a pad in the audio line.
I have considered possibly trying another audio card in the computer
although I dont want to have to go thru all the necessary messing around
to remove and install the cards if it is not nexessary.
I would appreciate any suggestions or comments that anyone cares to make,
although at this stage i would prefer to remain hooked into the
accessory jack rather than mess around building something up to bring it
in through the Mic jack.
I am hoping that somone else may have run into a similar problem
and with a lot more knowledge than me found a solution( I know its a
little late for Santa but a guy can hope cant he )
I have had quite a few good contacts both on 20mtrs and 10 mtrs since I
got set up a couple of weeks ago.
