[ICOM] Icom 718 and Computer

Having trouble remoting Icom 718 with my PC because
when I transmit, the PC disconnects from the internet.

I have put toroids on all leads and grounded the rig
and computer to a single earth ground. Maybe some
SLIGHT improvement with the grounding and liberal
application of toroids.

Does anyone know what would happen if I moved the
computer about 20 feet from the rig and extended the
control cable from the interface to the transceiver by
20 feet? The control cable is a two conductor cable
terminated in a 1/8 inch male plug that plugs in the
back of the 718. My thinking is that maybe the extra
space between the computer and the transceiver would
solve the disconnect problem.

Please give me the benefit of your EXPERIENCE. Thanks
