[ICOM] Cold 706MK2G Problem

I have owned my 706MK2G for about 5 years and it has never given me a
problem, until recently.

I have the radio remote mounted in my pick-up truck, and as the
temperatures have finally cooled down in the Tampa Bay area, the
radio has developed a problem. When cold (say 56 degrees or lower,
the radio will transmit what appears to be around 10 khz low on 440
and VHF and somewhat distorted audio until it is heated up. As the
radio heats up, or when the ambient temperature is around 60 degrees
or higher, the radio operates normally. I have NOT checked to see if
the HF bands have the same problem.

I pulled the rig out of my truck and put it in the freezer for about
20 minutes. Then put the radio on the bench and monitoring with a
handheld radio, the 706 did not transmit at all until it started
warming up, and then it was off frequency until it warmed up completely.

The radio receives perfectly, cold or warm.

Any Ideas what to look for, or what's causing this problem??
