Very nice story, Scott! I really enjoyed reading it.

Okay; for the field engineer the Bird 43P would be a better solution of 
course. It is a huge solid meter, but much more expensive too. And not very 
user-friendly with the forward and reflected power reading.

For the normal (what is normal...?) Ham operation however the Daiwa CN-801H 
is a perfect solution. Not expensive at all (in Europe it costs around $100) 
and with easy to use features.

BTW; for twenty years allready I am using the Daiwa NS-660P with three 
different sensors. It still functions as twenty years before and really is 
rock-solid!
